One objective of this initiative is that stores applications available to a much wider range of terminals so far.

The WAC, which are present all four operators in Spain with a home network (Telefonica, Vodafone, Orange and Telia, the owner of Yoigo) unite the efforts of 24 of the biggest players in the world, they have, together 3,000 million customers.

Vodafone already had a similar initiative called JIL with 3 other operators that will unite corporate and commercial ties as China Mobile, Softbank (Japan) and Verizon Wireless (USA) but now has joined the WAC by their sheer scale.

The main goal of WAC is to attract the huge community of independent developers of applications that have become a phenomenon all the Apple applications store, which has achieved that users downloaded 3,000 million from the 140,000 applications that have a different disposition within two years of its existence.

The alliance aims to create a platform operators wholesaler that provides a single point of entry for developers so that they do not have to develop different versions of their products, but one with only standard tools, but then every operator has his own shop with features own.
